Jean B. Merozier
President
Jean Merozier, a dedicated nurse practitioner, educator, and community health leader, is committed to expanding access to quality healthcare for underserved populations. His core values of service, perseverance, and compassion guide his work.
After immigrating to the United States, Merozier pursued a career in healthcare, earning degrees from Miami Dade College, Florida Atlantic University, and Nova Southeastern University. He became a Family Nurse Practitioner and later completed a Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of North Florida, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health.
Merozier provides primary and mental health care, focusing on both physical and emotional well-being. He co-founded Trinity Community Health Center LLC, a clinic offering affordable, comprehensive care for preventive health, chronic disease management, acute care, mental health services, and HIV care.
Merozier also co-founded MeroMed Health, a nonprofit organization providing health education, HIV/STI prevention and treatment, mental health counseling, and chronic illness management. MeroMed enhances access through public health outreach, community education, and inclusive care for marginalized populations.
Merozier actively mentors, writes, and engages in continuous learning, driven by his vision of a more equitable society where healthcare and education are accessible to all.
Jean C. Medina
Secretary
Jean C. Medina DNP, A-APRN, FNP-BC, NP-C, PMHNP, AAHIVS
Dr. Medina is an autonomous advanced practice registered nurse (AAPRN) in Florida who has completed a graduate degree in advanced practice nursing and is certified in family practice. He earned his associate degree in nursing from Miami-Dade College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Medina graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in family practice, from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the University of North Florida. Additionally, he is a certified HIV specialist recognized by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
For approximately twelve years, Dr. Medina has worked in Florida and Upstate New York, serving communities with numerous underserved populations that lack sufficient primary care providers who speak diverse languages. He has experience in a range of settings, including pain management clinics, primary care clinics, HIV specialty clinics, long-term nursing homes, acute rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals such as Hampton Court Nursing & Rehabilitation, Comprehensive Health Center (CHC), Trinity Community Health Center (TCHC), HCA Florida Mercy Hospital, Jackson North Medical Center/Hospital, and HCA Florida Aventura Hospital.
Dr. Medina is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the general population with care and empathy. He is well-trained in delivering modern primary care and family practice medicine in Florida.
Wilna E. Michel
Treasurer
Wilna E. Michel is a compassionate and accomplished healthcare professional with dual license and extensive experience in both respiratory therapy and nursing. Originally from Haiti, Ms. Michel commenced her healthcare career after graduating from College Notre-Dame de Lourdes in 2003. Subsequently, she relocated to the United States, where she obtained her Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Atlantic Technical Institute in 2011.
Her professional journey commenced at Trinity Medical Center in North Dakota in 2012. From 2014 to 2020, she served as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where she refined her clinical expertise and strengthened her commitment to patient care. Motivated to broaden her scope of practice in healthcare, Ms. Michel transitioned into nursing, acquiring her Associate Degree in Nursing from Concord Career Institute. She subsequently earned an Associate of Arts from Broward College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2024.
Since then, Ms. Michel has integrated her clinical acumen into Naples Community Hospital and Lee Health System in Fort Myers, Florida. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at St. Thomas University, with the aspiration of becoming a nurse practitioner.
In addition to her clinical endeavors, Ms. Michel is committed to contributing to her community. She serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for MeroMed Health, a nonprofit organization that provides essential services, including HIV prevention and treatment, mental health counseling, and chronic disease management, to underserved populations.
Ms. Michel’s multifaceted clinical background, unwavering commitment to lifelong learning, and profound sense of community service continue to define her trajectory as a healthcare leader and advocate.
Felicia Dennis
VICE PRESIDENT
Felicia Dennis has been in the education field for over 15 years. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. She has had the privilege of working for the two largest school districts in Florida. In higher education, she has garnered experiences from both public and private institutions. Her professional journey has allowed her to research and evaluate diverse subjects and programs impacting various groups, including marginalized communities.
Her academic achievements further underscore Felicia's dedication to education and research. Dr. Dennis holds a Ph.D. in educational research and program evaluation from Nova Southeastern University, a testament to her scholarly pursuits. Additionally, she has a master's in business administration with a concentration in human resources management from American InterContinental University.
Felicia’s belief in “loving your neighbor as yourself,” as stated in Matthew 22:39, extends beyond her immediate community. She sees her fellow citizens of planet Earth as her neighbors and is committed to serving and supporting them, especially those in need, with compassion, kindness, empathy, and understanding. Her extensive volunteering experience includes organizations such as SOS Children’s Village Florida, Children’s Harbor, Inc., Ronald McDonald House Charities of Fort Lauderdale, and Toys for Tots (U.S. Marine Corps Reserve).
Marjorie Medina
ASSISTANT TREASURER
Marjorie Medina is a dedicated and compassionate nurse based in Miramar, Florida. Born and raised in Haiti, Ms. Medina's early life was profoundly influenced by her strong spiritual foundation, cultivated through her Catholic education. This upbringing instilled in her a deep reverence for God and a passion for service. She dedicated 11 years to teaching, imparting her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of leaders.
With a career rooted in care and a heart committed to healing, Ms. Medina commenced her nursing journey by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing from Miami Dade College. She subsequently obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University and St. Thomas University, respectively, where she refined her clinical skills and leadership capabilities. Over the past 12 years, Ms. Medina has amassed extensive experience in hospital settings, becoming renowned for her clinical excellence, unwavering empathy, and steadfast commitment to her patients. Her dedication was formally recognized when she received the prestigious Daisy Award, an honor bestowed upon nurses who provide extraordinary care and compassion.
Driven by an insatiable desire for continuous growth within the healthcare industry, Ms. Medina is a lifelong learner who actively seeks opportunities for professional development. She firmly believes that knowledge and compassion are inextricably linked in the pursuit of superior patient outcomes. Outside of her professional life, she derives joy from reading and music, which nourish her spirit and maintain balance. Colleagues and patients esteem Ms. Medina as caring, reliable, and spiritually grounded. Her journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and the calling to serve others.
